I'm trying to think back about what's been going on recently, but I was drawing a blank. Whenever that happens, I take a look at whatever screenshots I may have taken since my last LJ post to job my memory. There wasn't much there this time, but I did remember that I'd been using some time in Abyssea recently to try and get some of the useful Abyssites.
A couple weeks ago, Evangel wanted to kill Limules & Clionids in Abyssea-Tahrongi for the key item they drop that provides an extra stone. We were operating on the assumption that the person who aggroed would get the Abyssite key item, should it drop. We killed the first one, that I aggroed ... then Evangel aggroed one and this happened:
I guess I got it because of the killshot or perhaps it's just random, who knows. I thought that maybe it was some other abyssite that dropped, but it was the one we were hunting for. It was sort of funny, but oh well. We still need to go back and get Evangel one. The mobs are pretty easy to find with Wide Scan.
Later on last week, I went with Wodie, Evangel, and Rizelmine to kill Tonberry for the Abyssite key item that decreases the regeneration time of your Traverser Stones at the NPC. Me and Wodie both needed ... he got his pretty quickly, and I got mine right at the end.
People are just now discovering that another Abyssite that extends the time of each stone by 3 minutes dropped from Ovni, the Abyssea UFO mob. If I can snag that one, I'll have all(?) of the time benefiting key items. 108 minutes for 3 stones would be hot.
Abyssea NMs: We took our first foray into Abyssea as a LS hunting NMs last week. At the suggestion of Wolfshadow, we were planning to try and get all the key items needed to pop Kukulkan. Amazingly, we were successful! A couple of the NMs were sort of bitchy, but for our first try we did pretty well. I think we're going to be trying to pop Kukulkan and get Lunar Abyssite for members of the LS this week. After that, I'm not sure what exactly we'll do, but there's so many different options we can try, we'll need to come up with something new.
Magian Trials: I'm mainly focused on completing my +6 DEX, +12 acc Kila at the moment... and I'm finally on the last trial needed to finish it. I've got 210 more Golems left to kill on Lightningday and I'll be done! I got my first group on Golems last night and it was 4 of us and we killed 40 in an hour. If I have to solo, I'm sure I'm only going to be able to kill 15-20 an hour tops, so I'm looking at quite the long road to finish unless I happen upon people that I can team up with.
My other active Magian Trial is for adding another +1 DMG to my Magnatus. I'd not made any progress on it in awhile, but I got the LS to come kill some Rams hoping to upgrade my Abyssite last week. We killed 3 before the Abyssite finally converted, so I'm 3/8 toward finishing. I'm still hoping for some low man kills, but considering the Ram was pretty easy with an alliance, I may be able to get some more kills that way since a few folks in LS want to try Dawon again. Dawon, btw, is like Byakko on steroids. We popped it once last week and it pwned the crap out of our unprepared asses.
I'm trying to determine what are the next trials I need to undertake. I have DRK, NIN, RNG, and WAR still that don't have any Magian weapons. For DRK, I've got a Plaga Scythe, which isn't nearly as good as the best Magian weapon... although I rarely play DRK. For NIN, I've still got Senju/Perdu. For RNG, I've got a Siege Bow ... I doubt I need a Magian upgrade for that job. And for WAR, I'm still rockin' the Perdu Scythe with hopes for a Vermeil Bhuj someday.
I may just continue working on weapons for my THF and COR. There are other daggers I could get, a STR one and one with an added effect to lower the opponents defense. Both would be nice to pair with the Kila I'm working on, but I hope to get an Auric Dagger and not need another Dagger. For COR, I could use the MAB Gun ... but I'm worried about what enhancements to the Magian process are forthcoming.
Other Stuff: The LS is chugging along and we've done our normal rotation of events lately. I'm personally looking forward to getting back out to Sea soon so we can start hoarding some popsets for possible AV attempts.
ZNM interest has been really low lately, but we killed 5 Tinnins last week. No amazing drops of note... we still have two Sarameya popsets raring to go.
We TP burned two Kirins a little over a week ago, they died very quickly with minimal use of 2 hours. It was pretty cool... sadly, all we got from them were 3x D.Body and an Osode. I think Sky is pretty much done as an event, but we may go up every once in awhile to kill pops that people may have collect or to do a quick farming run to keep getting chances at Kirin. No matter what happens, seems people always need/want W.Legs.
Einherjar & Dynamis are chugging along. It's nice that they are much easier now, it offsets the lower numbers we've been getting for a lot of events lately. Sometimes the turnout is scary low, but then we end up winning or whatever anyway and it turns out to be no problem. I can only imagine how much things will be on 'easy mode' after the next update.
Last night was the 20th Odin kill for Immortality and the first one I didn't have access to attend. It's all good though, we entered with our lowest number of people to date (18 + mule) and from all reports things were smooth and easy like usual. Drops could have been better, but whatever ... congrats to Wodie on Valhalla Helm and Notorious on M.Body... the rest went free lot!
Aggregate Odin's Chamber Drops: I last posted our aggregate Odin drops after 15 kills, so now that we're at 20 it seems like a good time to update the list! Parentheses indicate # of drops obtained since last update:
Aquarian Abjuration: Body - 5 (+2) Earthen Abjuration: Body - 7 (+1) Hadean Abjuration: Body - 8 (+3) Martial Abjuration: Body - 8 (+3) Phantasmal Abjuration: Body - 6 Wyrmal Abjuration: Body - 1 (+1)
I was out of town last weekend and I've sort of forgotten what's gone on since my last LJ post, so it's probably time for a catch-up / summary.
Linkshell Happenings: Things in the LS have been pretty good lately. We've had to cancel a couple of events because of either low turnout or low interest. More due to low interest than anything. For example, we normally do ZNMs in the fashion where people collect pops on their own or in low man groups outside of LS time and we kill T3 or T4 mobs at the event. But a couple of times lately, we've had little to no T3 pops available and I didn't find out about it until it was too late to coordinate a T4 kill (people need reminders about getting zeni for islet access, etc -_- ).
However, for events that we've had, things have gone very well. I think Limbus is cruising right along, they killed another Ultima this week. There's an Omega in the can ready to go and zones are pretty easy now due to level 80. People have been working on VNMs a bit more than ZNMs, so we've done that a little bit... last night we killed 2 Yilbacons and got crap drops, of course.
Let's see, what else, what else ... I think we're going to try killing some NMs in Abyssea as a LS later this month. The only issue I see there is people not having access or not wanting to use their time for hunting LS NMs. However, there do seem to be some pretty good NMs that can be killed and I know someone in the LS has a Lacovie pop collected from raiding chests during XP that we might try. Should be interesting to see how it goes, but I've seen a few people make comments lately insinuating that stuff outside Abyssea is useless. I don't agree with that 100%, but there's a lot to do in there that's worthwhile for sure ... too bad the limitation of visitant status sort of cramps things. We need to start getting some more of those abyssites to extend visits and lower traverser stone regeneration time!
Einherjar seems to be the main thing that people have retained interest in since the updates. We're lower in numbers than before, but now it's pretty easy to win any zone with 20 people. I'm sure a lot of zones can be done with less, but I think we're in really good shape for most things if we get 20 people there. We're already set up for our next Odin, but I'm concerned about attendance. If we proceed with what we've got, then it will be our lowest Odin attempt ever. The last one was super smooth though, so I think we'll be fine... although it'll be the first I don't have access to!
Oh, and we did KS99 Wyrm again recently and got another Speed Belt! Grats Zecilus. It was our 2nd and makes us something along the lines of 2/100. Worse than the expected drop rate, but meh.
Personal Happenings: I have no idea what I've said on here about my character lately and what I've not said, but here's the deal.
Currently, I've only gotten COR and THF to level 80... and only THF is capped XP. RNG is 79, WAR is 77, and NIN is just barely into 76. DRK, my first 75, is still 75 (lol).
My planned order of progression for getting my jobs to 80 is either RNG or COR to capped 80, WAR, DRK, then NIN. NIN may not even get to 80, since I pretty much just use it for T1 VNMs, Uninvited Guests, and Campaign. I'm certainly not planning on any weapon trials for it or anything like that.
Which brings me to my next subject of Trials... I'm working on a whopping total of one Trial now!! I'm on my way to the +6dex, +12acc Kila dagger for my THF. I've still got my Magnatus that I can continue to progress towards Armageddon (lol), but at the moment that's not a priority. Anyway, 825 mobs in Lightning weather/day to be done!!
I've actually picked up a few drops lately as well. I got the abjuration for Crimson Mask in a Wing 1 Einherjar and me and Evan duoed Megamaw Mikey and I won the lot on the Plaga Scythe. The Mask was one of those things I wanted, but didn't really care if I got ... however, when it dropped no one else had it wishlisted so I just took it. It's nice to have another Regen piece, especially for COR.
Anyway, there may be some other things I've forgotten or glazed over, but w/e! FFXI is still fun but has just been on the backburner a bit lately as it often is in the summer.
Normally, I'd lead off a LJ post the day after an Odin with a drop summary, but hot damn we went to Sea on Tuesday to unload our LS supply of Jailer of Love pops and we hit the jackpot!
4 Jailers of Love - 2 Full Drops, 1 Novio/Novia, 1 Novio
Hell yeah. And every single item that dropped was bid on. There were 2 BLMs who had enough points to qualify to lot the Novios, so they got the first 2. After BLMs, we allow SCHs, CORs, and RDMs with enough points to bid as long as no BLMs can meet the minimum requirement. Of everyone that was there, there were 3 of us that met that criteria and one of them was me! So I got a Novio Earring for my COR. It was our 11th overall. Most all of our regular BLMs have them now, except for a few that never farm triggers for points... they'll get there soon enough.
Odin #19: Last night was our first Odin since the level cap increase and it was really super easy. We had 21 members + mule and it was dead before we hit the 10 minute warning. I'm pretty sure now that a balanced group of any 18 of our members could beat this now... and we could probably go as low as 13-15 with our top members there.
Drops were not the elite ones we would like, but 3/5 of them were wishlisted so congrats to the winners in the screenshot below!:
I'm hoping our next trip around to Odin will not have any hiccups, since I think we can win anything with 18 now, but it will still depends on luck to a degree. We still don't even have everyone at level 80 on their Einherjar jobs yet, so we should still improve. The biggest challenge now will be to keep a stable of mules at the ready so we don't have to repeat Chambers for Wing clears.
I'm not normally one to get all that excited about getting items, but Skadi's Chausses have been the #1 want for me from Salvage and they've been like my White Whale ... they've *never* dropped for us. Sure, other Salvage groups within the LS just have them rain down, but us... nope, zilch, never.
That finally changed Friday night when that cracker ass Poroggo Madame in Zhayolm Remnants dropped the 35s!
I have been hesitant to even do this zone recently because the lack of this NM dropping was beginning to be quite aggravating. Considering that I have to sac-pull and die here at least once, sometimes more, just added to the lameness that is this zone/NM.
Whatever though! Now I've got my Chausses!
I had to update quite a few macros as a result of getting these. THF, COR, and RNG were all able to benefit from obtaining these so it's one of the most impactful pieces of equipment I've been after lately.
Obtaining these really narrows my focus for what I want in Salvage now. I pretty much would like to complete full Usukane and full Skadi. For Skadi, I need Freya's Mask & Freya's Jerkin, both from Bhaflau Remnants. For Usukane, I need Hikazu Gote, Hikazu Hara-ate, and Hikazu Hakama from Zhay, SSR, and AR respectively. Other people are after these items and I'm not sure that I will lot over them. I'm hoping some of these drop soon so I can start to target them. I also need the 15 Usu Body from AR and 25 Usu Legs from BR.
Some Ares's could be intriguing, but I'm not after much of it at the moment. The good news is Imp. Wootz Ingots are in a free fall now, so if a Deimos's Cuirass drops, I might just lot it... especially since no one else needs one. >.>
Other Stuff: Since my last entry, the other stuff that happened was a marginally successful (from a gil standpoint) Bv2, an almost full clear of Dynamis-Bastok with 14-16 members, and a successful Abyssea-Tahrongi party on Coeurls that netted my THF level 80, capped XP, and 3 merits.
My THF hasn't been capped XP in ages, due to pulling in many events and dying often in sac pulls. I doubt I keep it capped either, but I've been using RR2 Hairpins exclusively lately and I've started a Dagger Trial which will result in me killing 975 experience points yielding monsters under various conditions... so I'm not going to get anywhere near the point where I'll need to XP on THF anymore.
Since Abyssea XP alliances are becoming much more of the norm now for 76+ XP, I'm hoping I get to do them more often. More and more people understand how they work and how to make them successful, so if I get the time & opportunity to join them I am planning to do so. I still need to get WAR, DRK, NIN, and RNG to level 80. Out of those 4, NIN is probably the least important to get to 80, but all of the others have uses at events so I'm going to try and finish them off.
I'm more and more "less" inclined to update my LJ with FFXI happenings lately for a combination of a couple of factors. The first being that I have a lot less free time than I used to and the 2nd being that it's not often we do something new and exciting worth posting about.
However, since I mentioned in my last update that the LS had been on a summer vacation and would soon be returning to events, I thought I'd give an update on what we've been up to.
As I suspected/expected, attendance has been down at events since our return. In general, we're seeing a 25-33% dip in #'s at events. This isn't all bad though, since we're still mostly focused on pre-existing content, we're actually able to perform just about as well with fewer numbers. On the other hand, motivation for some things has diminished, as shown by a cancellation of a ZNMs event due to there not being enough T3 pops ready to go.
In general, things have been positive since our return. A lower total of people for our first Dynamis after the break lead us to chose Tavnazia as our zone instead of Qufim. Maybe we could have still done Qufim, but people seem to be more interested in Tavnazia. I will admit, it was pretty fun... that zone is almost built perfectly for players that are 76+. We killed many more mobs with much more ease than usual, and as a result we were rewarded well too:
We've also done some VNMs and some Sea NMs which were both pretty smooth events. All told, we've collected 4 complete JoL popsets with pieces of others. I don't think the 80 cap has brought much more progress to taking down AV and with people whining about Love Torques and Novio Earrings, I don't think we'll be able to wait and hold on to the popsets until the next level cap increase.
Personal happenings include some Salvage completions which for me included our first ever sighting of these:
You can tell by my response that I was incredulous at them dropping. It was pretty cool on that run too, we did 5 NMs, plus the slot Poroggo and the boss all within the time allotted. Salvage is another one of those things that just got way easier with the cap increase to level 80.
I'm personally maxed out on all drops from SSR aside from the Usukane Haramaki 35 piece. I've promised the next one to Riz unless someone manages to outlot him for it, in which case I'd probably lot it anyway. Hopefully those can start dropping soon so I can snag one.
I've leveled WAR and THF to 77 & 78 respectively, but I've yet to be in one of those prolonged 6+ hour Abyssea alliance XP groups. I stayed in one for about 3.5hrs last weekend, but had to finally go to bed because it was late. Most of these that happen with LS members are late, late into the evening and I'm always asleep for them. I might try to get in one this weekend, but I sort of doubt it. I could use one more round of MMM XP to burn off the final charge of my Allied Ring, though.
Since Aurore Brais are pretty much better than the ASA legs I selected, I decided to toss mine and got a new pair this week. I chose the MAB +4, Phantom Roll -5 augments. They are pretty COR specific, but that's fine. I was debating magic accuracy instead of PR -5, but with my new Skadi Bazubands I won't be losing much macc at all over replacing Denali Kecks with ASA legs, so I went with the job specific augment instead.
Finally, the last thing to report is that I completed another Trial on my Magnatus. I've got 6 kills of Freunke to go before I've got a Gun with more base damage than my Corsair's Gun +1, which used to be the gold standard for QD Guns. A couple people in the LS are working towards Lord Ruthvens Nails for Magian Trials, so I'm hoping to tag along with them for Freunke kills and get those done soon. I'm not sure how easy it will be to continue along to the next Trial, as it's 8 kills of a new Ram VNM in the crag zones, but the base damage increase after that trial is only 1 DMG so I won't be in a terrible hurry to finish it. The trial after that is the Empyrean Weapon one, which is practically impossible for me to consider at this point, so again, I'm just setting my sights on the DMG +7 Magnatus and then I'll evaluate where I want to go with Trials after that.
It's been awhile since I posted an entry on this here LJ, at least for me anyway. :O
The LS wasn't up to much in June since my last post... then my vacation happened to coincide with the much ballyhooed June update which added a level cap increase to 80 along with a bunch of new content. We took this time to put the LS on it's summer vacation and let everyone do their own thing for awhile... getting to 80, exploring new stuff, or whatever.
When I got back from my vacation, I got on not knowing much of anything at all about the update, but the first order of business was to complete the level cap quest. Not having any merits saved up, I ended up going out in a LS party on my WAR and XP'd for a bit. I managed to get the 3 merits I needed plus the Kindred's Seals for the quest and knocked that out right away.
I decided to level up COR first and in the process burn off the rest of my Anny Ring charges as well as using up some Allied Ring charges. In hindsight, I should have saved those for one of my harder to XP jobs, but whatever ... not knowing what stuff was out there for level 80s to get into I figured that COR would be my most useful job so I wanted to get it there as soon as I could.
In the process of leveling COR, I discovered MMM exp. Well, I didn't discover it as much as LS members had discovered it and I was able to tag along with them and learn the ropes. I was pleasantly surprised with the results as I was able to gain a level per round of 6 mazes and eventually got COR to 80 via some FoV this past Friday. I haven't actually XP'd anywhere beyond level 75, but I hear that traditional camps get pretty weak for exp beyond level 77, so things like MMM and Abyssea are becoming the norm for getting oneself to level 80.
Speaking of Abyssea, I was able to do that a little bit over the last week. The first time was an exploratory session with LS members, but then on Sunday I went in twice with the express purpose of farming exp and cruor (the abyssea point/currency). At the end of it all, I was able to get the new Aurore Brais leg item from the NPC in exchange for 3k cruor.
There are actually better TP legs that were released than these, but I don't think they have been discovered yet. Of course, my THF can't wear these yet, but my DNC can and it's rendered my Desultor Tassets obsolete. I need to redo the ASA final fight now so that I can get different augments on them.
The LS is resuming events tomorrow and for now it's the same standard old content fare. There are a few things that are on the verge of dropping off the horizon, namely Sky and Limbus. Sky I still enjoy, but Limbus I don't ... and both are close to becoming obsolete and/or lowmannable. Dynamis will hang around I'm sure, due to the profit to be made from there, but AF2 is mostly useless now. Einherjar is still probably going to be one of my favorite events but reports are that it's gotten a bit easier as well. As long as E.Body is the #1 body piece for WARs and DRKs we'll be hitting that event in full force ... not to mention Valhalla gear for -PDT still being relevant.
Overall, I've got a feeling of uncertainty in the future of the game and the LS. Things are fine for now, but as level caps increase and new content for those extended levels come about, almost everything we do today is going to be obsolete or lowmannable?! So for now, I'm gonna keep tabs on new happenings as well as push us along as we have been going and see how things play out. We've come from a once a week Dynamis only 3+ years ago to the mutli-faceted LS that we are today, so I'm sure we'll continue to adapt and keep taken down future challenges.
It's been a semi-busy couple of weeks, so here we go.
Odin's Chamber: This past Wednesday was our 18th overall Odin and it went really well. On our way through the chambers, we actually took down the Chair Dude again for our Wing 3 win, which was uplifting for everyone. While we'd beaten it before, our recent tries had not worked out so well. On the negative side, we lost a Wing 1 this time through because we got the Marid boss and we had lighter numbers overall, and only 2 BLMs, so Djiggas (WAT?) ran roughshod over us.
Nevertheless, the highs and lows evened out with a very nice Odin kill and the following drops:
Only the H.Head was free lotted, so it was good to get 4/5 wanted drops. I think that's our 6th Fork overall now, which is by far our most common "5th slot" drop from Odin. Congrats to everyone!
On a personal leadership note, I was made aware of some contention over the A.Body drop and I will admit it was a very tough call. For whatever reason, everyone left on the A.Body wishlist is lower in overall attendance, mostly because they are newer members to the LS. Making decisions on who gets what is always hard and people will likely feel slighted, especially if it's a high value item, but all I can do is assure everyone that we give things a great deal of thought and to hang in there if you don't get what you want, since if you are close and miss out one time, you will very likely be up for the item you want next time if you keep attending events!
Anyway, it's time to start the climb towards Odin again ... this was probably our last Odin before the June update hits, so who knows how the landscape of events will change with an increased level cap and new armor/abilities. Maybe it will stay the same, maybe it won't!
Yilbacon (Yilbegan VNM): Voidwalker Notorious Monsters are a new event to the LS and relatively new to the game, too. It seems like only a small subset of our members are really into them, but the good news is that while they are doing them they are able to do a couple of the T3 level VNMs in a low man situation.... so we have ended up with a few people having a T4 abyssite pop ready for use for the LS. A couple of tries were made early on, and again in non-LS low man situations... but last night we finally got a group together and took that badass dragon down:
Oh, before I continue, we've come to calling it Yilbacon in LS because one day Riz was calling it Yilbacon "to make it sound more enticing" or something like that, lol.
We used mostly BLUs and RNGs for damage on this and after some rough going in the middle, we finally downed it with just one of the new Cloths to show for it. Big thanks to Odogg who came out in the middle and gave us a hand tanking it since apparently they've done it quite a bit.
Bahamut v2: We dropped a couple more Bv2s earlier in the week and got a Cashmere Cloth on each. We're up to 11 straight kills with a Cloth dropping, that's some nice gil.
However, after the 2nd one we had some serious COR fail and couldn't get 2 hours reset. We decided to mix it up a bit and do the 3rd one with a different RDM/DRK and with a different Soul Voice March BRD, while our DRKs would need to be cured due to Souleater because no Blood Weapon was available. So what happened? Fail.
It was a combination of our RDM/DRK not knowing what to do... well, not having much experience with Chainspell Stunning, and apparently getting conflicting reports of what to do, and our DRKs dying to the first TP move that got off ... so we wiped with it about 10%. So damn frustrating. It's not the first time either, I hate it when we wipe to Bv2 because of actual playing errors. If the stupid thing got off a lucky Dispelga or Terrorga, that's one thing... but failing when we should be able to beat it is beyond agonizing.
Luckily we got 2 Masks and a ton of gil items, so it wasn't a complete wash, but w/e ...
Other Stuff: I don't have much personally that went on... my game time has been pretty limited and I don't even remember what I've been doing. We did get another Deimos's Cuisses in SSR this week, making it our 5th drop since we started. >.> I think only a couple people that could even equip them are left, so that's pretty cool.
Oh! I've been piling up zeni lately, that's one thing I remember! I still need to take down Brass Borer and Anantaboga, but I hope to be ready for the next ZNM night with an Achamoth pop. I'd sure like some Aurum Sabatons, but with my luck they'll never drop and cost me 6k more zeni for another try. ;;;;;;;;;
LS did an Omega Wednesday as well, here's the updated drop Summary!
I don't know why I've been slack in posting aside from the fact that I've been busy, but that must be it... so that's the reason. >.>!
To start out, we experienced some new things lately. Our last Dynamis was a Beaucedine and for the first time we popped and killed some of the Attestation Fomor NMs. We have 2 people in LS who are on Stage 3 or beyond, I can't remember exactly ... but they are farther along than anyone else would ever hope to be. One's going for Kikoku and the other for Spharai ... which as luck would have it drop from the same NM.
Our trip to pop and kill the eye at the Nue tower was fraught with mistakes and peril, but we eventually got there and killed it. Next time we go, I think we've got an idea of what it will take so it shouldn't be all that bad. Nevertheless, we rejoined with the rest of the group and killed a couple of the NMs, getting Katana and Bow tests to drop. Bow was free lotted.
Tier IV ZNMs: We'd built up a big pile of T4 ZNM pops across all 3 mobs so we did those during the end of May. The first night was Tinnin and Sarameya which we'd done before. Out of 4 Tinnin the only notable drops were Hachiryu Sune-ate and an Enkidu's Harness ... the rest was garbage. Sarameya wasn't much better, but damn that mob is fun to just TP burn down. We got a Pachipachio on one of the kills, but still the rest was either 100% drops or garbage.
That brings me to our next ZNM night which was our first ever attempt at Tyger. I think we were all pretty concerned with how that was going to go because we'd heard some horror stories, but we had a ton of people pull their SMNs out of the closet and that whole fight was smooth as hell. We did 2 pops, the 2nd one was mine and dropped an Enforcer which I hope to sell to some unsuspecting DRK. The first one, however, dropped two Aurum Cuirasses which was awesome. Clannagh decided to pay for one and the other went to Aliiyah winning a lot. Tyger doesn't have a ton of great drops, but it was nice to do pretty well on it.
Einherjar: The last sort of new thing that happened to us was getting a Sheep in our Einherjar chamber. In over 120 regular non-Odin chambers we'd never gotten one. "The Sheep is a lie" to alter a commonly used phrase. Well, this time he was real and our crate overflowed with drops:
Would have been great if there was an Abjuration in there too, but 11 drops is still a ton. I'd like to see another sheep before another 120 runs go by. >.>
Other Events: We went back to VNMs a 2nd time and killed a couple of Lord Ruthvens. He was not very hard at all and I've learned that some LS members have effectively low manned him a few times as well. Could be an interesting farming opportunity before people figure it out and start flooding the market.
Last night we went to Sea and while things didn't go according to plan, we had a productive evening. Killed 3 more Faiths to stock up on 3rd Virtues for awhile and obtained a Torque on one of them. Then we did one each of Hope, Justice, and Prudence before calling it a night. No time for JoL and we got to Sea right after another LS killed Temp, so we didn't get that either. Next time we need to do both of those desperately.
Salvage has been kind in May and we've completed more pieces in May than any month since November '09. Most notably Wodie got his elusive Skadi's Jambeaux 35 on a run with us and Riz picked up Ares's/Morrigan Legs 25s both from the same Battleclad Chariot. Not a bad way to end the month. Also, we have at least ten 35s awaiting materials and or 15s/25s to complete even more pieces.
Vedder Time! Since hitting 75 WAR I've picked up a Sturdy Axe from Nyzul Isle and began working on King's Justice. I'm also about 17 skill levels from the cap on GAX, so I presume that I'll reach the cap before finishing up KJ... or even sooner if I happen to get another merit party before that happens.
I've not been able to keep up with much of the new content (and by new I mean March >.>), but I did get a clear abyssite from the NPC in Jeuno and when we were out for VNMs I popped a T1 and it converted to a colorful right away! Additionally, I started a series of Magian Trials to work towards a Magnatus with a DMG +7 augment:
That's 4 more base damage than the next highest Gun Corsair can use, so that would result in quite a large per shoot boost to Quick Draw damage. Anyway, I completed the first Trial on the path and next I'm on to killing some Yag NM in Castle O. If I remember correctly, the whole series of Trials is killing lesser known NMs until you get to the end, when I'd have to kill some T2 VNM 10 times. Bah!
I should make a short list of all the little tasks that I hope to accomplish outside of events, but I don't feel like it. I will sometime, but not now.
Just a quick post to report on our 17th Odin that went down last night. We had 24 again, but for whatever reason it was much smoother and quicker than our last one with the exact same number of people. I think the killshot happened at around 9 minutes remaining, so that was awesome. Anyway, on with the results!
We got our first A.Body since January and our first E.Body since mine back in December, quite awesome! I think it was the first time we'd had them both drop from the same Odin as well. Congrats to the winners above! Sadly, we got our 5th D.Feet or something like that... why can't that slot drop more N.Legs? D:
On a personal note, I parsed very well this time on RNG compared to last time. I don't trust our parses 100%, but it's a rough gauge and that's good enough. Last time I was the 3rd best RNG overall (out of 4) and this time I was the top RNG and the 2nd DD overall, so that was cool. I basically spent more time paying attention to my job ability timers like Hasso, Velocity Shot, Meditate, Barrage/Sharpshot... and I used Empyreal Arrow exclusively as a WS unless Sharpshot was active. It does less DMG, but is far more accurate so I went for the slow and steady approach to WS damage.
I think I also spent less time asleep or paralyzed or bound or whatever this time as well, because Riz was attentive to my needs... what a swell guy.
